Context
Good Food For All is a non-profit organization working in partnership with Eastside Boxing Club, providing youth participants ages 13-19 with healthy after school snacks.
Together they strive to increase access, interest, and knowledge of food and nutrition while empowering individuals to make healthy food choices.

Goal
To show vulnerable youth the many jobs in the food industry, and offer access to resources that will help them receive the training and education needed to secure employment.
Why is our project important?
Research by PROOF states that:
1) 1 in 6 youth in Canada experience food insecurity
2) 60% of food insecure households rely on wages for income.
Therefore we see a connection: low income could equal higher chances of experiencing food insecurity
In addition we conducted a survey (total of 13 participants at the Eastside Boxing Club) prior to the formation of the modules to get a sense of the urgency and impact it could have on the youth that have access to these workshops.

We found out that:
In conclusion:
1) The majority of the youth lack resources to help obtain employment
2) Although the majority have resumes, they lack the mentorship for a successful transition from high school to the workforce
We want to help increase opportunity to gain meaningful employment that will lead to steady income through job search education and mentorship.
3) The majority are looking for jobs rather than post secondary education.
